The Energy Detective Modifications for PERL or Linux

I have been looking at The Energy Detective again as a way to monitor generator power. There is Windows software for it but, of course, I want to get the data on a Mac or Linux. I found this modification. The modification requires voiding the warranty but it looks pretty straightforward.

The other issue I have seen is that the TED interferes with X10 signals. That is a big issue. I am not sure if it interferes with INSTEON. The TED transmits at zero crossing once a second at 132KHz, X10 is transmitted at zero crossing at 120KHz. I see how that could be a problem.
