Replaced low voltage CMR cable with 600V THHN

It took half a day to replace 50 feet of low voltage CMR cable with 600V rated THHN conductors. The professionally installed Briggs and Stratton Home Standby Generator was improperly using the low voltage cable for the 240VAC 5 Amp utility sense circuit. Sleep was troubled knowing eventually a fault would likely damage the other conductor insulation in the conduit. Why can't a professional company who's only business is installing generators with licensed electricians get it right?

Home Depot has 500 foot spools of 14AWG solid conductors for $20. Red and black was used to replace the 240VAC circuit. The new 14AWG conductors were tied to the old CMR cable and with plenty of cable lubrication and many trips back and forth, the CMR cable was removed.

Another pair of the 4-pair CMR cable was used for the remote LED status indicator. The remote LED status was relocated closer to the generator since it is remotely monitored by a small computer with email status.

Sleep is not troubled by that cable now but how many similar installations are there in SC? There is plenty of left over THHN for them.
