The Garmin nuvi 255W is a great replacement for the TomTom One XL. It does bread crumbs and it has a display with elevation data. It does not do saved routes but it is very easy to navigate to a location. It speaks the road names in its directions. It has speed limits for major roads. It shows a speed limit sign on the screen, a very nice feature. The nuvi 255W does not do bluetooth and requires an external FM traffic receiver but we never used those features on the TomTom.
The Apple Macintosh RoadTrip software has not crashed yet. The TomTom Macintosh software, never worked. The RoadTrip software is very similar to the MapSource software for Microsoft Windows computers. Garmin provides conversion software to convert the Windows maps to Macintosh maps. These utilities worked just fine.
