After a Tesla service for a computer failure and driver mirror trim issue, we noticed what sounded like an object rolling around under the floor when the car accelerated, decelerated or turned. After months of that aggrevation we finally decided to try to solve it. With the help of a cheap WiFi borescope, we saw a bolt in the air duct under the driver's seat. It was about 18" into the duct. We retrieved the bolt with a magnet taped to the end of a wire and finally, no more rolling sounds.
We were glad to resolve the issue because Telsa said they would have to charge hours of work to remove the front seat and floor covering to search for the sound. We have since ordered grilles to cover those air ducts to hopefully prevent any future items from sliding down the duct.
